Through GCP Applied Technologies' Blue360 Advantage - with an integrated offering of products, technologies and expertise - the company helps customers solve some of the most complex construction challenges in residential and commercial building, infrastructure and underground construction.
Recent innovations include the breakthrough VERIFI in-transit concrete management system, CONCERA admixtures for controlflow concrete and SILCOR liquid waterproofing. In addition, GCP is advancing commercial and regional success in the tunnelling and mining sectors with the TYTRO shotcrete system.
The consequences of water ingress can be expensive and far reaching. Even one breach in the building envelope can spell disaster, which is why architects around the world rely on GCP's waterproofing solutions to protect their infrastructure.
Television Centre was the headquarters of BBC Television until 2013, when the site underwent redevelopment to include apartments, offices, restaurants and retail buildings.
Due to a varying water table, the project called for specific requirements to prevent water migration. The site also contained a complex maze of inverted bends and horizontal paths. Access came in from a mix of residential, commercial and retail buildings, which required a complete matrix of fabricated movement joints.
GCP's PREPRUFE and ADPRUFE waterproofing solutions were selected to address this, alongside its SERVISEAL waterstop to protect the expansion joints in the concrete. In total, approximately 19,000m² of PREPRUFE and 6,000m³ of watertight concrete enhanced with ADPRUFE were used on the site.
