Carl Stahl Architektur - Mesh security that blends in

A unique parking garage was completed in Leiden, near Amsterdam in the Netherlands, beneath the old buildings of the Lammermarkt, and offers 525 new parking spaces. The circular design of the levels and their connections create an open and transparent atmosphere.

Light has been dispersed easily thanks to Carl Stahl Architektur's X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh, which provides security by adapting to the round shape of the parapets. The mesh is fixed with a I-SYS stainless steel wire-rope system that does not obstruct views of parking spots or orange markings.

The X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh by Carl Stahl Architektur offers a plethora of possibilities for car park architecture. By having different sizes and numerous connection options, the mesh can be integrated into almost any architectural condition. Its three-dimensional flexibility makes the ideal securing of a round room possible, without high production costs for round parts.

In Leiden, more than 700m² of stainless steel cable mesh with a size of 100mm was installed, which was attached to 8mmthick stainless steel wire ropes from the I-SYS product range on the ceiling, floor and levels.

X-TEND is offered with various mesh widths, cable diameters or even coloured stainless steel cables. Architects have more freedom when designing an individual project with X-TEND, and I-SYS stainless steel cable and mesh systems.
